Let the word know the Beauty of Japan
Our company operates with the motto “Bringing the Beauty of Japan to the World,” focusing on the global sales of Japan’s specialty products and running media sites about Japanese history and culture.
The advent of the internet in recent years has facilitated more active exchanges between people worldwide, and we Japanese have increasingly had opportunities to interact with foreigners and foreign cultures. However, as interactions with people from other countries have increased, so too has our awareness of Japan’s splendor.
Indeed, with the term “inbound” becoming commonplace, more and more foreigners are interested in Japanese culture and are coming to Japan. They are attracted to the architecture of the streets, temples, gardens, Japanese cuisine such as sushi, soba, and udon, and the approachability of the Japanese people, drawing visitors from all over the world to Japan.
We Japanese have taken for granted the “Beauty of Japan” that is admired worldwide, seldom giving it conscious thought. I, too, was once unaware. However, traveling in Japan with foreigners and visiting other countries made me acutely aware that while the world recognizes Japan’s excellence, we Japanese often overlook it.
Sharing Japan’s Unique History and Culture with the World
This realization inspired a strong desire to share Japan’s allure with the world and for Japanese people to appreciate the beauty of their own country more. We are a nation with a culture that can proudly stand on the world stage. Looking back, Japan has always been a mysterious and fascinating country.
Located in the Far East and being an island nation, Japan has developed uniquely due to its geographical features. For a long time, exchanges were limited to neighboring countries like China and Korea. Moreover, from the 17th to the 19th century, Japan implemented an unparalleled policy of severely limiting foreign interactions, making it an even more enigmatic country. The world was astonished when this mysterious nation suddenly industrialized in the late 19th century, winning a war against the great power of Russia. After suffering defeat in World War II, Japan experienced a period of stagnation but then displayed remarkable economic growth from 1955, surprising the world once again. Japan’s technological prowess was unmatched globally, leading to its status as an economic superpower.
Is there any other country that has been shrouded in mystery, experienced such rapid economic growth, and had such a significant global impact?
The world’s interest in Japan lies in its unique history and culture. We aim to share Japanese history and culture that captivates people worldwide, spreading the “Beauty of Japan” further. We also want Japanese people to learn more about their country, which led us to start a media platform focusing on Japanese history and culture.
The “Lost Decades” and Looking to the Future
As of 2024, Japan’s economic status is unfortunately at risk of falling from its position as an economic powerhouse. The term “Lost Decades” has become common, with Japan being the only developed country that hasn’t grown economically in the past 30 years. Various theories explain this growth slowdown, and it’s challenging to pinpoint a single reason.
However, it’s frustrating that Japan, a country with so much potential, has found itself in this situation, and we believe we can do more. Although we may not be shining economically at the moment, our history and culture continue to captivate people worldwide. By running a company that focuses on Japanese history and culture, we hope to help Japan regain the global spotlight, even in the economic realm.
